August 2021 “Hair Care/Products” Business Specific Grant Awarded to P’zazz Salon

P’zazz Salon

Woman Entrepreneur:
Dawn Wilson

Congratulations to Dawn Wilson, Founder of P’zazz Salon for being the WomensNet $5,000 August Business Specific Grant recipient in the category of “Hair Care/Products.”

In Wilson’s own words, “I was a single mom, working as a stylist full time, managing and running our salon alone, battling my third round of cancer and dealing with all of the bills coming in with little income due to Covid and loosing six stylists during the stay at home orders.”

The WomensNet Business Specific Grant will be used to update and fix Wilson’s salon. Since becoming sole owner of the salon, Wilson has been looking forward to renaming it and making it her own. “My business was established in 1997 and has an amazing following. I know if I update it, the possibilities are endless, ” said Wilson.

Reminder that the category of the $5,000 Business Specific Grant in September is “Education and Childcare”. If you applied for an Amber Grant in 2021 and your business is related to mental and emotional support, you’re eligible to win the $5,000. If you’re going to apply in September, you’re eligible to win both the $10,000 Amber Grant as well as the $5,000 Business Specific Grant.
