Question: Tell us a about your business and what inspired your business?
My business is called CareSteps Mobile Foot Care. I am a licensed practical nurse and a certified foot
care specialist, and I provide professional foot care to diabetics, seniors, and individuals with mobility
limitations or transportation insecurities. The inspiration came from years of working as a nurse observing
and unfortunately witnessing a patient suffer from avoidable complications simply because they could not
get to the clinic to have basic toenail care performed for them. That is what I want to change- to bring
quality and compassionate care to those who may not have access. For me, it's not just about the feet. It's
about preserving dignity, independence, and comfort. Every visit is an opportunity for me to educate,
prevent, and empower our clients to take better care of themselves for long-term quality of life.
Question: What makes your business approach unique from other businesses providing similar
services?
What makes CareSteps unique is the way we blend clinical, clinical care, compassion and education. I
don't just provide a service. I teach clients how to monitor their feet, how to identify early warning signs,
and how to move forward should these things occur on their feet, and who to go see when these things are
occurring with their feet. I offer a routine visit schedule with these clients of mine. It allows me to build
trust, it allows me to build routine, and it allows me to reeducate each visit the importance of taking care
of our feet. My clients have a sense of security in regard to knowing that they have someone that they can
trust to aid them in that way, so that they can maintain their independence, comfort, and maybe at some
time depending on what their issues are- increase their quality of life. In short, my approach is to provide
preventative personal connect, preventative care, personal connections, and prevent long-term illness. Not
just treating the patient after they have an issue but hopefully getting ahead of the problem and preventing
it all together.
Question: What other business partners or collaborations do you have or plan to have, and how do
you work with them?
CareSteps is in the early stages of growth. But I am building relationships with home health agencies and
diabetic educators to create a strong referral network. These collaborations will help patients stay
supported between their regular medical appointments. I'm also planning to partner with senior living
communities and local health programs to host wellness days and educational workshops. The goal is to
make preventative foot care accessible to anyone who may need it, not just in the service of things, but
also in the education and the knowledge of things.
Thank you. I really want to thank WomensNet for allowing me this opportunity. I am just so grateful for
the service that I am able to provide for these lovely human beings who deserve quality of life and
somebody giving them the care that they need. It has been such an honor to be recognized in a way that is
sometimes overlooked. Our feet can be often ignored. But I am here with the support of WomensNet and
the Startup Grant to hopefully reduce the need for this sort of service. Thank you.
