WomensNet Mini Grant Awarded to Mala Market

Mala Market

Woman Entrepreneur:
Somya Gupta

Based in Houston, Texas, Mala Market opened in May 2022 as a non-profit with its focus set on providing local makers, crafters, and doers with a collective and collaborative space to promote their handmade goods. They offer everything from home décor and eco-friendly cleaning supplies to clothes and up-cycled accessories.

“Being born and raised in H-Town gave me a deep sense of gratitude towards my local community. From this, I set out to develop the concept behind Mala Market, to join together to provide our community with sustainable shopping solutions.”

The market aims to encourage shopping locally and sustainably so that Houston can grow towards a more eco-conscious community together. By shopping local and supporting goods made by hand in small batches, we can invest in our community both socially and economically.
